The sensory laboratory bench is a purpose-designed evaluation workstation built in accordance with ISO 8589 standards for the objective assessment of products by taste, smell, texture, and colour. Each workstation is configured as a private evaluation cabin with partition walls that isolate individual assessors, ensuring that responses are not influenced by the reactions or presence of other evaluators. Key features include specialised lighting systems with RGB and dimmable options to allow precise control of the visual environment, dedicated ventilation to prevent odour carryover between sessions, and sample hatches for the controlled introduction of evaluation materials.
Neutral-coloured worktops are incorporated into the design to eliminate visual bias that could affect sensory perception during evaluations. The controlled conditions provided by the sensory lab bench support the generation of accurate, reproducible data in food and beverage development, product quality control, and consumer research applications. The bench configuration can be customised to accommodate the specific requirements of different sensory evaluation programmes.
